David Ash, MD

David Ash, MD, graduated from Missouri Western State University with a Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology. After leaving Missouri Western State University, Dr. Ash worked as a laboratory manager at the University of Missouri Kansas City and completed a Master’s of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. A graduate education led to a short career of seven years in basic and applied science research at the Stowers Institute of Medical Research and ViraCor Laboratories in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. During Dr. Ash’s experience in applied science research, he developed an interest in attending medical school. Dr. Ash attended the University of Medicine and Health Science on St. Kitts and Nevis in the Caribbean. After graduating from medical school in 2014, he completed his internship and general psychiatry residency at the University of Missouri in Columbia. Following residency, Dr. Ash pursued fellowship training at a joint program of Forensic Psychiatry at the University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins. In forensic psychiatry, Dr. Ash evaluated pretrial defendants for competency to stand trial and criminal responsibility. Dr. Ash gained experience in civil matters such as hospital policy, medical malpractice, and guardianship issues. Dr. Ash accepts new patients via all methods of referral.
