Dr. Michael Young received his Bachelor of Arts degree from William Jewell College, Liberty, Missouri in 1990 and his Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1994. Dr. Young completed his residency in General Psychiatry at the University of Kansas Medical Center in 1998. He was Chief Resident in Psychiatry 1997-1998 and the recipient of the Pfizer Career Directions Award and the Feynman Lectures in Physics Award in 1998. Dr. Young became a consulting Psychiatrist upon completion of his residency program to various Residential Facilities and Hospitals in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. In 1998, Dr. Young and Dr. Brian Barash were among the founding members of Comprehensive Psychiatric Associates, LLC, in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Dr. Young continued consulting as he built his private practice, and has established himself as a heavily relied-upon mental health provider serving patients of all ages. In addition to his practice at Comprehensive Psychiatric Associates, Dr. Young is a consulting Psychiatrist to Marillac Children’s Psychiatric Hospital and Residential Treatment Center in Overland Park, Kansas. Dr. Young is board certified in General Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Young does not lecture or consult for any pharmaceutical company, choosing to focus his non-clinic time toward efforts to raise awareness for environmental and natural energy causes. Dr. Young accepts new patients via all methods of referral.
